Julio Noriega 

Julio Noriega (Lima, Perú - 1968)

 

Metallurgical entrepreneur, self-taught chef and sculptor. He attended school in his hometown and had to interrupt his studies of law at the Pontifical Catholic University because the family had to move to the US in the late 80's. It is there where it starts to perform construction within the area of ​​the metal and then with the "steel frame". In the late 90's he moved to Córdoba Argentina where in addition to the metal structures begins to be interested in the artistic blacksmith forged. He participated in the execution of large sculptures in Viale Goyo workshop for renowned artists such as Claudio Gomez and Segui, and through them discover the ductility of steel and one of his passions, sculpture sheet, mainly oxidized. "In the workshop we drew always we cut plate and flipping weather giving them that vintage look that is the material I like to work" In the last 10 years made sculptures to order and a couple of exhibitions in the Resto - Art Gallery The Large Glass of Cordoba Capital, where he was invited as Chef at special events. A year ago, he lives in Jose Ignacio and build your own house in Laguna Garzon. His latest series of sculptures, "Chapa Origami" was made entirely with the remains of a ship that ran aground on the coast, near the Lighthouse, "The Renner". There, I think with his wife (Magdalena Balbastro, plastic artist) OUTDOOR Magg's Art Gallery, an art gallery "Open Air" where to exhibit their own work and that of other artists.
